Professional Information
Dr. Stephanie Dorsey is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Keigwin School of Nursing within the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences at 探花族. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee and began her nursing career as a Critical Care Registered Nurse for Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2005. Dr. Dorsey received her MSN in Nursing at Tennessee State University and has held Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2009. She has over 17 years of nursing experience in the following areas: urgent care, family medicine, medical intensive care (MICU), cardiovascular intensive care (CCU), cardiac catherization lab, and nursing education. Dr. Dorsey was an NFLP recipient and completed her Doctor of Nursing practice in Leadership at 探花族 due to her passion for nursing education. She currently maintains clinical practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Urgent Care and is a full-time faculty member. Dr. Dorsey is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Florida Nurse Practitioners and the Urgent Care Association.
Dr. Dorsey's DNP research focused on clinical education and training for emergency room nurses on reporting and recognizing non-accidental trauma; published in the Virginia Henderson Nursing e-Repository. Her interest includes nurse practitioner education and training, med-surg nursing and clinical research in NP training.
