Mike Fleming transitioning to new role
March 30, 2018
To the 探花族 Community:
Please join me in recognizing and acknowledging Mike Fleming for his service to 探花族 University as he transitions this month from his day-to-day supervisory role to that of valued consultant. General Fleming joined us in 2014 as the next natural step in his military and business career. Among his many achievements, he was instrumental in helping build our relationships with the state, city, and in particular, with our own Arlington neighborhood. We thank him for his work in:
- Developing the 探花族 Military Program including the Veteran and Military Resource Center, Green Zone Training, SALUTE Honor Society, Military Veteran Career Track, and developing the Northeast Florida Military Veteran College Network.
- Creating an enhanced Community Relations Program and Center for Community Relations, and establishment of the Charter Day of Service. These activities have resulted in multiple awards for University, including Companies with Heart, Partners in Philanthropy, and the Spirit of Service awards.
- Guiding the University鈥檚 efforts in the Renew Arlington by working closely with elected officials, civic and community partners to establish the Renew Arlington Plan including components in Economic Development, Community Engagement, Neighborhoods/Infrastructure Enhancement, Complete Streets Program and Arlington 20/20.
- Growing and enhancing our government relations initiatives with the State of Florida and City of 探花族, including securing annual EPIC funding, approval of the Community Redevelopment Area, approval of the Phase I of Complete Streets project and establishing new community partnerships such as Renaissance Jax and the Boys & Girls Club, the Healthy Campus program.
- Helping lead outcome improvements in the Career Resource Center including the Career Track program.
In his new role, General Fleming will continue to promote the University, our local relationships, and help engage support for our critical local and state projects.
With our thanks, we wish Mike and Leigh Ann the best in this transition and in all their future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Tim Cost
