The Career Enhancement Opportunities (CEO) Program is required for business majors coming in under the Fall 2021 catalog or after.  The goal of the CEO program is for students to gain a better understanding of the majors and subsequent career options in business and to become more marketable through acquiring additional business credentials, skills, knowledge, and practical experiences. The program is also designed to give students the opportunity to become more engaged both on and off campus, to expand their professional network, and to gain an overall more fulfilling university experience.

Program Requirements

In addition to completing the required coursework associated with each degree offered within the Davis College of Business & Technology, students participate in twelve Career Enhancement Opportunities (CEOs).  Six of the CEOs must fall into the following categories: career exploration, resume, technology, internship/mentorship or other practicum experience, mock interview and job search.  Students that complete the requirements will earn a Professionalism Badge through Badgr to share on LinkedIn and other social media platforms. 

Internships are strongly encouraged at ̽»¨×å and in the Davis College of Business & Technology as they pave the most direct way into employment, graduate school, and beyond. Davis College students seeking an internship have the opportunity for 1:1 coaching on selection and obtainment of internship opportunities.

With an idyllic location for internship opportunities with many of our corporate partners, students have a unique advantage to gain valuable skills and build career knowledge to become successful upon graduation.

Resume Review. ̽»¨×å partners with . to help you create a powerful resume and accelerate your career journey. Mock Interviewing. THe Davis College partners with to ensure every student can get hands-on practice before the real deal! Big Interview provides video lessons to master the interviewing process and bonus content in negotiation and resumes.  Register for free and contact the Davis Center for follow-up one-on-one interview preparation.  

The Phins Up Mentorship Program, organized by Career Management at ̽»¨×å, helps students prepare for their professional futures. Rooted in our mission to enable student success, the Phins Up Mentorship Program allows JU students to gain professional perspectives from accomplished individuals. Student mentees will be individually matched with an experienced mentor who will provide advice and guidance on skill development, career paths, and graduate school education. The program will include a variety of events and meetings for both mentors and mentees to benefit from.
