Successful Event Planning

Proper planning is the easiest and most cost effective way to plan your event. Whether you are planning a continental breakfast, student event, or reception, event planners must adhere to College policies and local and state health regulations for catered events.

Step 1Confirm the event location.

This should be completed 10–14 days prior to the date of the event.

  1. Check the .

The calendar is updated regularly and gives a reasonable indication whether or not your requested space is available; however, the calendar is not all- inclusive. Some facilities are reserved/scheduled but not posted on the general calendar.

  2. Place a request for event space.

If you are faculty, staff, or a student of ̽»¨×å, you should submit space requests online. Follow the instructions on the screen to request a space. If you need help, refer to the 25Live instructions.

If you are not faculty, staff, or a JU student, you should submit space requests by email to Molly Johnson at (904) 256-7531.

  3. Wait for confirmation from the Office of Event Scheduling.

The Office of Event Scheduling will confirm receipt of your request by e-mail within 48 hours.

If the event can be scheduled as requested, you will receive confirmation to that effect. If the event cannot be scheduled as requested (due to lack of availability or more information needed to process the request), or if the request will take longer than 48 hours for confirmation, you will receive an e-mail requesting more information.

Step 2Plan your catering.

This should be completed at least seven (7) business days prior to the date of the event.

  1. Contact Molly Johnson at (904) 256-7531 to arrange catering for your event.
