Telehealth
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ̽»¨×å Student Health Center (JU SHC) has expanded its healthcare services and is offering Telehealth visits for students with viral-like symptoms. A Telehealth visit is a real-time electronic form of communication that allows you to remain in your residence hall, apartment or off-campus housing and remotely receive health care services. You can use your smart phone, computer, or mobile device to video conference with your provider.
Doxy.me is the platform used by the JU SHC to conduct the telehealth visits. This is a private and secure platform used by many healthcare professionals to offer real-time healthcare to patients at a distance. All data is encrypted, sessions are anonymous, and none of your information is stored. Doxy.me adheres to HIPPA, PIPEDA, HITECH and GDPR data privacy requirements.
Once your telehealth appointment is scheduled:
You will receive an email from the Front Office Coordinator with information regarding forms on the Patient Portal that must be completed prior to your appointment. Failure to complete these forms will result in your appointment needing to be rescheduled.
The email will also include the Doxy.me link that you will use to video conference with your healthcare provider. Ensure your camera and microphone are working within the link and on your electronic device prior to the appointment.
Locate a private setting where you will not be interrupted and where other people will not overhear the visit.
If you have a thermometer, blood pressure machine, or device to check your heart rate please ensure you have those on hand as a provider may request a current reading.
As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to call the Student Health Center at (904) 256-8080.
